Send an email from a chosen Gmail account
Olyvr writes the email as a draft you can review, then sends it from the Gmail account you choose. If you have a personal and a work account connected, you pick which one it goes from.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- At least one Google account connected in Memory Data Sources. Accounts connected before sending was added ask you to sign in again to grant send permission.
- A model to write the draft.
Ask Olyvr
Section titled “Ask Olyvr”Write an email from my work Gmail to dana@example.com with the subject “Launch brief” saying the launch brief is ready for review.
What Olyvr does
Section titled “What Olyvr does”- Writes an email draft in the document panel, with the recipients, subject and body. Edit it there or ask for changes in the chat.
- To attach files, choose them under Files on the draft. You can add up to 10 files, 10 MiB in total, and remove any before sending.
- You open the More menu on the draft. It lists Send and Save draft for each connected Google account, with its email address. Pick the account to send from.
- Olyvr asks you to confirm, naming the subject, the sending address, every recipient and the name and size of each attachment.
- After Gmail accepts the message, the draft shows that it was sent and when.
Choosing an account here is separate from how you signed in to Olyvr. The confirmation always names the address the email goes from.
The chat agent can’t send email on its own. Sending always goes through the draft and your confirmation.
Each confirmed send or draft is one action. Clicking twice, or a request that is repeated, returns the same result instead of sending the message again.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”- Open the Sent folder of the account you chose. There should be exactly one message with the subject, body and attachments you approved.
- Check that it did not go out from your other account.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- No recipient: Olyvr won’t send until you add one.
- Permission missing: Olyvr offers to reconnect the account, then sends once you’re back. Until then, nothing is sent.
- Too many or too large attachments: Olyvr won’t add them. Keep to 10 files and 10 MiB in total.
- Delivery uncertain: if the connection drops, Olyvr says Gmail may have accepted the message. Olyvr won’t send it again, even after a restart. Check Sent or Drafts first, and compose a separate message only if it isn’t there.
