Introduction
Olyvr is a desktop assistant for office work. It reads your files, mail and chat, answers questions with citations you can check, drafts documents you review, and tells you what needs you today.
It runs on your computer. Your documents, chats, search index and memory stay in a folder on your machine, and you choose which AI model it talks to.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Olyvr is one app with three parts that run together on your machine:
- The window you work in: the sidebar, chat, document panel and settings.
- A local engine that imports and indexes your data, runs the agent, and produces exports. It only accepts connections from the Olyvr window that started it.
- An optional subscription proxy that turns a ChatGPT or Claude subscription into a model endpoint on your machine, so you don’t need a separate API key.
When you ask a question, the agent searches your data, reads the most relevant documents, and answers with citations. It can only cite documents it actually read in that conversation. When you ask for a document, it creates a draft in the side panel as a list of proposed changes for you to accept or reject.
Find your way around
Section titled “Find your way around”The app’s sidebar has four parts, and the sidebar of these docs follows the same order:
- My Day lists what you owe, what you’re waiting on and what needs you today, read from your mail and chat with the evidence quoted. You can draft a reply to an item, then send it from the app it came from. My Day
- Olyvr Mind is what Olyvr knows:
- Awareness: notes about you, your people and your projects, and the preferences it has learned. Read and edit all of it. Awareness
- Memory Data Sources: the files, accounts and team memory Olyvr can search. Import files, Connect accounts, Olyvr TeamMind
- Mind Map Soon
- Reflection holds cards for the things you check every day, answered fresh on a schedule. Reflection
- Capabilities extend what the agent can do:
- Skills: Markdown playbooks Olyvr follows when a task matches. Skills
- Plugins: tools from MCP servers, used by the agent. Plugins and MCP
- Experts Soon
