Post a Slack channel message

Olyvr can post a message to a Slack channel for you, or reply in a thread. If you’re signed in to more than one Slack workspace, you say which one, and Olyvr keeps the post there.

  • A Slack workspace connected with Sign in with Slack. The built-in Slack plugin uses the same sign-in, so there is no Slack app to register. See Plugins and MCP.
  • Permission to post in the channel.

Being signed in to Slack in a browser is not enough. Olyvr needs its own Slack sign-in.

Post “Launch brief is ready ✅” in #launch in the Acme workspace.

  1. Finds the workspace and the channel. If two workspaces have a channel with the same name, it uses the one in the workspace you named, or asks.
  2. Shows the post for approval: the workspace, the channel and the exact text.
  3. Posts once you approve. Posting always asks first unless you’ve chosen Full access.
  4. Reports the workspace, channel and a link to the message when Slack provides one.
  • Follow the link, or open the channel in Slack. There should be one new message with the text you approved, posted as you.
  • Check that the channel with the same name in your other workspace has nothing new.
  • No link in the result: the message can still have been posted. Check the channel before asking again, so you don’t post it twice.
  • Private or archived channel: Olyvr can only post where your Slack account can post.
  • Workspace not listed: sign in with Slack again for that workspace.
