Edit a paragraph in a Google Doc

This workflow lets you hand Olyvr revised text for one section of a Google Doc and have it change only that section.

Today you can get most of the way: ask Olyvr to rewrite the paragraph as a draft, review it, and paste it into the doc yourself.

  • A Google account connected in Memory Data Sources, with access to the document.
  • Once available: edit permission on the document.

Replace the launch summary paragraph in the Q3 Launch Brief with this revised text. Leave the rest of the document as it is.

When this is available, Olyvr will:

  1. Read the current document and find the paragraph you mean. If the same text appears more than once, ask which one.
  2. Show you the change as a before and after for that paragraph only.
  3. Wait for your approval.
  4. Check the paragraph hasn’t changed since it read it. If a colleague edited it in the meantime, keep their change, stop, and show you an updated proposal to approve again.
  5. Apply the edit and read the document back.
  • Only the target paragraph changed. Headings, other paragraphs and formatting elsewhere are as they were.
  • Recent edits by other people are still there.
  • The document’s version history shows one edit from your account.
