Reply to an email thread with an attachment
Olyvr can draft a reply to a Gmail thread and put it on that thread as a Gmail draft. You attach the file and send it from Gmail.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A Google account connected in Memory Data Sources.
- The email you’re answering listed in My Day. Olyvr adds emails that ask you something or wait on you; newsletters and notifications are left out.
- Permission to save drafts in that account.
Ask Olyvr
Section titled “Ask Olyvr”Open the email’s item in My Day, choose Start, then ask:
Thank Priya for the launch numbers and tell her the summary PDF follows.
What Olyvr does
Section titled “What Olyvr does”- Opens the reply with the source email beside it, from the account the email arrived in.
- Drafts the reply. You can edit it, or use Redraft to regenerate it from your guidance in the chat.
- Addresses the reply to the sender only (or their reply-to address), not to everyone on the thread.
- When you choose Open in Gmail, saves the reply as a draft on the same thread and opens the thread in Gmail.
- In Gmail, attach the file to the draft and send it.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”- In Gmail’s Sent folder, the reply sits inside the existing thread, not as a new conversation.
- It came from the account the original email arrived in.
- Only the intended person is in To, with no extra Cc recipients.
- Open the file from the sent message to confirm it’s the right one.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- The email isn’t in My Day: Olyvr can still draft the reply in chat for you to copy into Gmail.
- The draft isn’t saved in Gmail: Olyvr copies the reply instead and says why. Paste it into the reply in Gmail, or reconnect the Google account in Memory Data Sources to grant draft permission.
- A new message arrived while you were reviewing: check that you’re still replying to the message you meant.
