Comment on a Google Doc
When a Google Doc needs a note from you, Olyvr adds a comment to it through the built-in Google Drive plugin, after you approve it. When an existing comment needs your answer, Olyvr drafts the reply for you to post on that thread.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A Google account connected in Memory Data Sources. To add a comment, the built-in Google Drive plugin set to that account; an account connected before comments were added signs in with Google again. To reply, the document’s Google Drive imported.
- Comment access to the document.
- A model to run the agent or draft the reply.
Add a comment
Section titled “Add a comment”Ask in a chat:
Add this comment to the QA Launch Brief doc: Please confirm the launch owner.
Olyvr finds the document in that account’s Drive, asking which one you mean when two share a name, then shows an approval card with the account the comment goes out as, the document’s name and the exact text. Approve and the comment is posted once; Don’t do it and nothing is written. The answer links to the comment in the document, and asking Olyvr to list the document’s comments reads it back.
Reply to a comment
Section titled “Reply to a comment”Start the task in My Day that came from the comment. Olyvr opens a chat for the reply, where you can ask:
Reply that Maya owns the launch and will confirm the date by Friday.
What Olyvr does
Section titled “What Olyvr does”- Shows a Reply on card with the comment thread it is answering and a draft reply.
- Lets you edit the draft, or use Redraft to regenerate it from your guidance in the chat.
- When you choose Open in Docs, copies the draft and opens the comment in Google Docs. Paste it into the reply box there and post it.
Olyvr doesn’t post the reply or change the document.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”- Open the document in Google Docs. A new comment should appear once, with your text, from the account you chose.
- The document body should be unchanged.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- Comment refused: a document that can’t be found or that you can only view fails before the approval card, and nothing is written. The plugin’s account can be changed on its page under Plugins.
- Wrong account: if your other account can’t comment on the document, choose the one that can.
